HI. I can’t seem to get the RSS feeds to work. http://www.theoaklandpress.com/?rss=news I am trying. It works with the default RSS in WordPress, but not in this one. Any thoughts?
November 7th, 2009 at 8:19 PM
Don’t see any problem. Please check your feed in our sidebar in 7feeds widget.
November 8th, 2009 at 12:55 AM
Huh, I see it working here. But it’s not on my site. Same feed. Is there some kind of setting i need to do?
November 8th, 2009 at 12:56 AM
This is what I have pasted into the feed url: http://www.theoaklandpress.com/?rss=news
It says optional, how could it be? What is the actual feed?
Thanks much!!

Hi,
Last time here, but the html looks and works great when I just copy and paste it from here: http://7feeds.com/page2.html
But when using the installed Widget on my sidebar, it does not seem to work. Think that might be the issue.

Ok, will try to check this. Are you using the latest version 1.03?
November 8th, 2009 at 9:50 AM
Also, please try another feeds in your widget – are they worked? For example, the feed of your own blog.
November 8th, 2009 at 6:49 PM
Yes, 1.03. I’ve tried others as well, no luck. DOn’t mean to be a pain here, but that’s the only thing i can see is the Widget vs. the actual code pasted in.

Seems you don’t have “mbstring” and “curl” libs installed on your server. Please check with your server admin.
We will add an installation validator in next version.

Hi!
I like this widget, very useful.
Works nice, except 1 thing: does only display the feed from one website, regardless how many feeds I put in the settings.
Any idea?
Thank you!

You should add a feeds in widget settings, not in plugin settings. Plugin settings feeds are only shown by default (if no feeds in widget are specified).

Hi i’m using 7feed with the latest WP, putting multiple feeds in.
Works fine, until I increase the number of items, then it stops.
March 26th, 2010 at 12:43 PM
How do you increase the number of items? What do you mean by “items”? Please explain further…
How it stop works?

URGENT! I cant uninstall it!!!! It’s ok, does what it says on the tin but not what I want, I’ve de-activated it and its still there!!! Its no longer in my widget list or sidebar but still on my homepage!! How do I get rid of it???
March 27th, 2010 at 1:54 PM

hey, I added the plugin last night and it worked great. This morning, no feed.. upgraded the plug in… no feed.. changed and added feeds, no feed.
March 30th, 2010 at 6:16 PM
nevermind… it seems the feed that I had in it last night now has a bug that shuts down your widget… if I clear it out and add others it’s fine.

It looks nice, but it’s not showing the month in the date under the entry. I’m pulling down a fairly complex Yahoo Pipe (http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info?_id=1f8b78dff52d9edd741380e233ffcf71), with the date in the format Thu, 15 Apr 2010 05:00:00 -0700. The entries show up with just DD YYYY HH:MM
April 16th, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Actually, RSS feed intended to show the latest news from the site. In case if a record posted several months ago, this is already not an news event actually. So we figured that month isn’t necessary. Any opinions?
April 16th, 2010 at 6:46 PM
I’m seeing things like 08.2010 10:08:00, which isn’t intuitive. August? Also if you don’t need the month, why the year? But then you’re left with just one number, and that is really cryptic. Plus, what happens around the first of the month?
April 16th, 2010 at 6:55 PM
In short, I’d vote for showing the date.
April 16th, 2010 at 6:56 PM
showing the month, I mean.
April 17th, 2010 at 10:03 AM
OK, we will add date template in the next version of plugin!

Looks good, thank you!

Hello thanks for the widget is veeeeery useful and good looking
I’m using the wp widget and….
I’m having trouble displaying more than 10 items, when i put more than 11 items to display, it stops scrolling. Can I put more than 11 items to display from the rss source? like 50?
I’m also confused with the configuration.. should configure the widget or the general settings? or both with the same settings?
thank you in advance
September 5th, 2010 at 11:39 AM
If you install widget with default settings – will be used default settings of the plugin. If you change something in widget settings – will be used its own settings then.
About number of items to display – we will check this, it could be a bug. I will inform in a week if it was fixed.
September 8th, 2010 at 12:31 AM
thank you very much, for answer, about muy doubt of the 50 items. I noticed something.
when I add the feed for the first time, just adds the 10 newer items of the feed, but one day after now displays 20, so I think it will be adding the new feeds until it gets to 50?(or the desired display items, i think is kind of logical). i’ll check it and tell you =).
thankyou very much and good job.

The feed was working on my site, then my site crashed, when I tried to put it back on it wouldn’t work anymore. I’m using the latest version of wordpress.
February 4th, 2011 at 10:47 AM
What’s the address of your website?
March 5th, 2011 at 10:27 PM
My feed is still not working, and I can’t get anybody to help me….
April 2nd, 2011 at 10:22 AM
I have installed the plugin and at times it seems to be working fine but at times when i go to my page the right hand sign of the plugin is cut-off. Just came to your site and the same thing appears. Checked your site on my other computer and the widget looks fine. So I think this is some kind of display issue and not an issue with your plugin – but if it is a common display issue then I dont know how many of my users will also experience this.
April 2nd, 2011 at 11:02 AM
OK – i have figured out why this is happening. This happens when I change the page zoom in IE. If I change the zoom, say to 75%, then the widget appears cutoff on the right hand side. Again, this occurs on your site as well as mine. Don’t know if this is affected by other browsers or not, havent tested yet.

Big problems with site crashes. According to my server – you must please update the parser.php file.
June 10th, 2011 at 10:34 AM
Your widget sometimes causes a crash of IE 8 and Firefox. Please repair this problem.

Hello 7Feeds –
The current version of the WordPress 7feeds ticker plugin (1.10) conflicts with the WordPress (3.1.3) TinyMCE editor. When the plugin is activated, you are unable to insert/edit a link on a post or page in visual mode, you can insert/edit a link in html mode but this method is not user friendly.
Can you review these findings and resolve the issue?
Thank you.
June 27th, 2011 at 3:34 PM
Hello 7Feeds –
Following the submitted bug report (June-20-2011 – Conflict with TinyMCE editor). I have seen that you released an update to the WordPress 7feeds ticker plugin (1.10.1)
As a result I have updated, tested and redeployed the plugin. I wanted to thank you for resolving the issue so quickly, and releasing the updated plugin.
Thank you.

I’m pulling an RSS feed from my WordPress blog, but the feed hasn’t updated since October 20th. The updates show up at http://hgtclibrary.wordpress.com/feed/ but not in the widget.
November 2nd, 2011 at 5:13 PM
Hello,
I have been using your widget for a while and it’s been great, but recently it has stopped updating the news.
On my website http://www.setyoufreenews.com/ it has stopped updating news on 26th of October 2011, when I went to your website http://7feeds.com/ I have noticed that your preview widget has also stopped updating on 26th of October.
I use the widget on my forum also http://setyoufree.lefora.com/ and it is not updating properly.
I have noticed that WP widget works fine, but it has minimal customization options, that’s why I am not using it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

I use your ticker on a couple of sites, with the same problem noted as those posts above me, the ticker has not updated a news story since Oct 26 2011, but when i check the news feed, it’s current for today’s date? Can you help?
Thanks so much!

Thank you for the fix! Love the widget!

Hi,
News is blank again, feed validates with no problem, just isn’t working through your widget today. Thanks for your help!
November 9th, 2011 at 9:08 PM
It’s fixed – thank you!

You can use http://www.sourcebeat.com since they fixed the bugs. They still give credit to 7feeds but update the plugin regulary. Easy to use interface and very similar to 7feeds. (Excepot updates feeds regularly
