You should check if “mb_string” extension is added to your PHP on the server. Most likely this is causing the problem.

Please check wizard on 7feeds.com – you can configure your widget without wordpress and grab the code to insert on web page. Is this what you need?

Here’s some more suggestions:
-Custom colors!
-Background transparency
-Rounded corners enable/disable checkbox on wordpress plugin
-Title length limit
-Enable/Disable pausing.
I currently set mine to 1 millisecond, but that’s not optimal
January 9th, 2010 at 10:26 AM
Is it possible to make the background invisible and get rid of the title?
January 11th, 2010 at 11:29 AM
Will add these all in next release. Except Custom colors – too much flash programming… (don’t have a time for this, sorry)

Very nice your widget.
Can I know please how to set the width of your widget for fix it on float mode by percent value?. It’s means just when I write 100% or 75%.
Thank you!.

I’m afraid we don’t have such feature now. You can set width only in pixels now.

Hi!
this is really awesome!
but there must be an independent code to insert in post or pages.
tried configuring it on your site as recommended above , but the maximum width is restricted to 240 , that must be more flexibel.
moreover some unicode characters in Hindi gets weired shaped..
ref. my site to see!
kindly update…..

Thanks for comment. Do you using WP plugin, or widget from the site 7feeds.com?
March 17th, 2010 at 5:36 PM
Hi there, great plugin but I cannot get it to display correctly. I m using the WP plugin on a modified WP theme and other plugins work fine but this one won’t show all of the ticker, it stops short. Please take a look and advise if you have a minute…
Thanks a bunch,
God bless

I checked your site and seems plugin working fine for me.
Which browser do you test in?
Check your email, I’ve send you screenshot.

My feed isn’t showing up and I saw your earlier reply to another comment with the same problem about the “mb_string” extension being added to your PHP on the server. Where do I check for that (in what file) and where would it be located (on or near what line of code)? Love the widget, such potential!
March 21st, 2010 at 6:18 PM
Put info.php on your server containing just these strings:
< ? phpinfo(); ?>
It will show up your server php configuration and if mb_string is included.

Hi. I love the plugin. Thank you for all the work this must have taken. I would like to change the color of the border only – is there somewhere in the code I can do this? Thanks again.
March 23rd, 2010 at 10:38 AM
No, you can’t change the border separately – it’s a part of built-in flash theme..

Hi guys,
Love the plugin – does exactly what I was looking for. Was wondering though if I can change the font somewhere – need to change from Arial to Tahoma for a site I am building.
Any help gratefully appreciated. Cheers

Hi
This is a great plugin: The best I can find so far – well done.
I just would like to have one more function and that is to “filter” the news. I would like to see all the news from multiple feeds but ONLY about “consultants”, “freelance”, “outsourcing”.
That news will then be related to my web-site.
August 23rd, 2010 at 10:08 AM
interesting idea! I think we can implement this feature…
August 23rd, 2010 at 12:49 AM
A few others have asked about changing the font and the font size, and now I’m asking as well. 🙂 Possible? Thanks!
August 23rd, 2010 at 10:07 AM
Yes, will work on this feature soon!
October 13th, 2010 at 12:38 AM
This URL does not pull the feed through your widget (not wordpress).
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/xxxxxxxxx%40gmail.com/public/basic
Is there a problem with the address or the google format?
thanks
October 13th, 2010 at 8:35 AM
I clicked on this URL and it says that this calendar is protected. You should open public access to it – I guess this is the problem.

Really impressed with what you’ve done here. It’s already doing a great deal. I didn’t spot the Design and Themes tabs first off and didn’t think those elements were configurable, so it was a nice surprise to see how flexible the whole thing is.
I agree that the choice of different fonts and font sizes would be a nice addition.
Also, have you considered adding the facility for allowing multiple feeds?
I’m only incorporating this on a test site at the moment, but it will be going on live sites soon, at which point I’ll be happy to send you a Paypal contribution to help keep this project going.
October 26th, 2010 at 4:41 PM
Hi, thanks for support everyone!
Multiple feeds and fonts configuration already implemented in the latest WP plugin – 7feeds.
I don’t think we will add these features for 7feeds main widget soon – takes too much flash redevelopment.

Hi, I have a problem. This very nice plugin worked correctly, but today sent me an message in admin panel, and missing from site the plugin :
“For correct functioning “7feeds” plugin requires following PHP Extensions:
1) cURL (false)
2) MBString (true)
If you don’t understand what it means, please contact your server administrator or hosting provider support staff and show then this error message!”
What is this? What must to do exactly? (I have ftp access for the wp in my domain) Help me please!
Thank you, Tibor

Curl is PHP library that used by our script. You should have this library correctly installed on your server. You should contact your server administrator or support in regard of this issue.

Several of the panels are not working. This happen some weeks ago with one panel. Now it is with about 8. Could you please do something about it?
November 29th, 2011 at 10:06 PM
Please check your feeds URLs (validity, dates, etc) – or send it to us via contact form, we are guessing they are causing the problems.

Hello,
I would like to say that your widget is a really good job both in terms of coding and design.
However, I have some suggestions:
-an option to remove the header of each feed but just show the date and the text content.
-an option to set the font-size / font-style (bold, italic) for feed header and feed content.
I would really appreciate such a feature in this useful plugin!
Thanks in advance,
Peace..

Hi I am really loving this widget. Just one slight problem and that is I have just published the xml feed file and all appeared fine in the widget on the webpage. Made one amendment to the xml and republished it to server – assumed the widget would update but it hasn’t. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Thanks
April 18th, 2012 at 7:59 PM
Widget didn’t updated the file? Did you tried another correct feed and with what results? Isn’t it update only yours or other’s feeds too?
